Magazine Article: Vanity Fair April 1995 issue

Been a while since I posted any magazine content, here's a quick one from Vanity Fair. Nothing much of interest in the written content but the photography by Herb Ritts (who did the promo shots of, I think, all the Burton/Schumacher movies) is stellar. Note the shot of Batman - a fantastic pose - in which you can see that his armpits are actually spandex!

  1. That's why both Tim Burton and Joel Schumacher are best friends since 1987.

  2. I am still amazed at all of the detail on Robin's suit. What a great design, such a shame it was only used in this film, and sparingly at that.

I am a fan of Batman & Robin, and I liked the Nightwing suit, but I have strongly mixed feelings about how Dick was handled in that film. Robin was handled so perfectly in Forever. Then again, each of the Burton/Schumacher films really was it's own iteration of the story, each one so unique - which keeps the series fresh and interesting, yet a bit more continuity would have really helped with the character arcs.

    1. I'm a fan of Batman '89. Michael Keaton was great in it. I'm a fan of Batman Returns. Michelle Pfeiffer was a fantastic Catwoman. I'm a fan of Batman Forever. Chris O'Donnell was a great Robin. And like you, I'm a fan of Batman & Robin. Alicia Silverstone was a fantastic Batgirl. The reasons why I like the Burton Schumacher Batman films is that they showed Batman fight the villians. And I'm a fan of Batman Begins. Because Christopher Nolan wanted to make an epic superhero film is that he wanted an ensemble cast.
